Material mix:
Our solar showers are deliberately made of high-quality ABS plastic. This is the only way to achieve optimum temperatures. You would not be able to achieve this with a stainless steel variant and the fun would quickly be tarnished. Not common with many models, but standard with us: the mixing lever, the foot shower / faucet and the switch are made of robust and corrosion-resistant metal. Here you have exactly the quality that is needed in the outdoor area. The hand shower with anti-lime nubs was, together with the hose, deliberately designed as a lightweight so that you can shower carefree long and even your little ones do not lose the desire to do so. Who wants a heavy stainless steel hand shower to fall on the bare foot. In the mixing lever itself we have installed a high-quality and durable ceramic cartridge. This meets the highest standards and, compared to competing products which often work with plastic cartridges, works longer and closes tightly.
Functionality:
The injected water fills the body of the pool shower which is heated by the sun and gives off heat to the water like a heat exchanger. During the first filling, open the mixing lever in the warm position until water runs out of the shower head. The then always warm body of the outdoor shower can subsequently flowing water even faster warm up. 35l is enough for 2-4 people to refresh themselves after a visit to the pool or sauna. With the help of our special mixer taps, the water heated by the sun can now be mixed with the cold water from the garden hose until the desired temperature is reached. Commissioning:
Solar outdoor showers of course get a location as sunny as possible. Only in this way you can reach the optimum temperature of 50 ° C. It needs a firm stand on a concrete base, on a stone slab or a floor plate for solar showers. Ideal is also a gravel bed under the stand to quickly drain the water into the ground. Our showers can be installed in 15 minutes. Our instructions are easy to understand. The two halves of the shower are simply connected to each other as with a bayonet joint. Between them is a seal. The attachments are all mounted without tools and only hand-tightened. Everything still becomes tight and is thus safe from tool marks. At the end you connect the garden hose by means of the supplied quick adapter. One knows the connection already from other well-known manufacturers. The hose should have no debris inside as this could clog the mixing valve and outlets. The hose should be installed in such a way that it does not cause injury or pull on the connection.
Care / Maintenance / Winterization:
Our solar pool showers are easy to maintain. A little decalcification with a vinegar-soaked cloth makes the shower quickly look fresh again. The shower head and hand shower will enjoy it if you also decalcify them every now and then. This is not just about taking a bath in the descaler. You can also keep brushing over the silicone nubs to keep them free. Shower heads and hand showers can burst if the pressure rises too much due to clogged outlets. With the solar shower as well as in the house. In winter, drain all the water before the first frost. You can easily loosen the quick release directly on the solar shower to do this. This is the lowest point. The water will then flow out. If you unscrew this cap completely, it may be difficult to reattach it. This should be avoided. Also remember to remove and empty the hose and hand shower. The mixing lever should be open and the rain shower should be slightly tilted and also emptied via the anti-scale nubs. Then the shower can spend the winter outside. Of course, it is safer to store it dry. Then you can enjoy it even longer. To do this, simply loosen the 4 retaining bolts from the base of the emptied shower and the shower can be easily moved.
Safety advice:
Do not use salt or other antifreeze under any circumstances. Recommended water pressure: up to 3.5 bar. Under no circumstances should the solar shower be operated via an additional pump or domestic waterworks. Here the recommended pressure is regularly exceeded and the shower can burst and suffer damage. When heated, the water in the tank expands. Thus, some water may also leak from the shower head. In order to protect the environment and not pollute the groundwater, you should not use shampoo or shower gel when showering in the garden.
